Toyota South Africa Motors has quietly introduced a new two-tone exterior colour option for its Corolla hatchback.

While the local range still comprises three variants – each powered by the Japanese brand’s turbocharged 1,2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, which directs its 85 kW and 185 N.m to the front axle via either a six-speed manual gearbox or a CVT – there’s now also the option of bi-tone paintwork.

Interestingly, while the upgrade from a single colour to two-tone adds R10 500 to the price in the case of the 1,2 XS CVT and 1,2 XR, it costs R25 800 in the case of the base 1,2 XS manual, according to Toyota SA’s website.

As a reminder, the standard models are offered in a choice of Glacier White, Satin Silver metallic, Scarlet metallic and Oxide Bronze. The two-tone option, meanwhile, combines a black finish for the roof and side mirrors with a body in either White Pearl metallic, Satin Silver metallic, Emotional Red or Caribbean Blue.

Pricing:
Toyota Corolla 1,2 XS: R346 600
(Toyota Corolla 1,2 XS bi-tone: R372 400)
Toyota Corolla 1,2 XS CVT: R373 100
(Toyota Corolla 1,2 XS CVT bi-tone: R383 600)
Toyota Corolla 1,2 XR CVT: R412 600
(Toyota Corolla 1,2 XR CVT bi-tone: R423 100)
