Chrysler South Africa has launched a special edition of the rather mundane Dodge Caliber. Called the Mopar Edition, it features 18-inch black powder-coated alloy wheels and sporty bonnet and beltline decals, as well as performance enhancements to the 2,0-litre petrol engine.
This Caliber sits five centimetres closer to the ground and has a cold-air induction kit, as well as a performance manifold and exhaust system. Chrysler confirmed that they will be obtaining figures for the increase in performance within the next couple of days. Expect a modest increase in power and torque from the standard 2,0-litre’s 115 kW and 190 N.m of torque.
Mopar is a conjunction of “motor” and “parts”. In the USA, Mopar supplies parts for Dodge racing cars as well as tuned road cars.
The Mopar Edition retails for R259 990.
