Volkswagen AG recently presented awards to two of its top Southern African dealers, Barons Southfleet in Durban and Zimmermann Garage in Windhoek.
Barons Southfleet in Durban was named the annual Volkswagen Dealer of the Year at a banquet held in Johannesburg at the weekend.
Ravendran Naidoo became the first previously disadvantaged Dealer Principal within the Volkswagen dealer network to be awarded this accolade.
Last month, Hagen Zimmermann, of Zimmermann Garage in Windhoek, was awarded the highest possible recognition with the Volkswagen Dealer Group – a Diamond Pin – at the recent Commendation Awards held in Wolfsburg, Germany.
Gold Pins are awarded to dealer principals and management in the disciplines of sales, service, parts, administration and finance based on exceptional achievement of a number of criteria.
Diamond Pins are the highest award the VW brand makes to its dealers and all recipients must have received a Gold Pin earlier.
Zimmerman’s received a citation for “the outstanding technical and customer service over the years in Windhoek since starting as a service only dealer”. Volkswagen AG said his dealership had become “a benchmark in the Volkswagen organisation in Southern Africa”.
Zimmerman Garage has won a number of awards in recent years, including the Club of Excellence (seven times), Dealer of the Year (three times) and the Chairman’s Award (four times).
