Alfa Romeo celebrated its 100th birthday this year and, as part of the celebrations, has created a limited edition version of its sporty GT model bristling with equipment and unique styling touches.
The Alfa Romeo GT Limited Edition is based on the company’s GT 3,2 model and, as such is powered by a 3,2-litre quad-cam V6 engine developing 176 kW and 300 N.m of torque – good for 0-100 km/h in 6,7 seconds and a top speed of 243 km/h.
In addition to the features fitted to the standard GT 3,2, each Limited Edition model comes with redesigned leather sports seats with red stitching, model-specific 18-inch alloy wheels in a 5-spoke design, red brake calipers, satin metallic finishes on the mirrors, grille and door handles, auto headlamps and windscreen wipers, Blue&Me Bluetooth with voice commands as well as media player and USB interface, and an internal pack featuring aluminium pedal boots and sports instrument cluster.
The Limited Edition model is regarded by Alfa Romeo as a swansong for the GT, which will soon be phased out of the range. Just 30 units of the Limited Edition GT will find their way to South Africa, each wearing an individual numbered plaque.
The Limited Edition wears the same R395 100 price tag as the standard car, but with the new CO2 tax added the sticker price climbs to R410 063. A 3 years/60 000 km service plan is included and service intervals are every 20 000 km.
