VW’s Amarok has proven to be quite popular on the local sales charts. One of the unique features of this model is the option of an eight-speed automatic transmission. However, if you were keen on this variant then you had to opt for a 4×4 model, until now… Buyers can now choose to order an Amarok double cab automatic with just rear-wheel drive.
Less mass equal better consumption
The 2,0 litre BiTDI has peak power of 132 kW and maximum torque of 420 N.m, the latter is available at a lowly 1 750 r/min. Top speed is quoted as 180 km/h. According to VW it only takes 10,6 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. Thanks to the reduced mass and the efficient transmission the new derivative has a combined fuel consumption of 8,2 litres/100 km and CO2 emissions of 216 g/km.
