Production of the all-new Audi TT has commenced at the Ingolstadt-based firm’s plant in Hungary. This is the third TT model that will be produced in Győr. Other models produced there are the A3 Sedan and Cabriolet.
“The new generation of the Audi TT is the third model that Audi is completely producing in the new car plant at our site in Hungary,” said Gerd Walker, Audi Hungaria’s automobile production director. “The successful model integration on the new production line is an important activity for the Győr production site: This means that the plant is now operating at full capacity.”
The Győr facility is also responsible for engine production with the VW Group producing powerplants for all the brands to the tune of nearly two million units last year.
Thomas Faustmann, managing director of Audi Hungaria, emphasized: “Production of the new Audi TT with full depth of manufacturing is the pinnacle of automobile production in Győr. This success story already started 15 years ago with the assembly of the first generation of the Audi TT Coupé.
“In total, Audi Hungaria has produced more than half a million units of the TT in recent years, in a successful cooperation with the plant in Ingolstadt,” he added.
