We have been hearing rumours about BMW’s upcoming 4 Series for a while and finally some rather official-looking images have leaked.
Called the 4 Series Coupé Concept, it is likely that these images represent a very-close-to-production-ready version. The 4 Series Coupé Concept will be based on the 3 Series’s chassis, but will offer a sportier look.
This Coupé shows a totally new design for the nose section as well as the rear. Even the interior looks more inviting and luxurious compared with those of current BMWs, while some of the features look close to what we have experienced in the 6 Series Gran Coupé.
Signature BMW design elements still include the Hofmeister kink at the rear pillar and the L-shaped rear lamp clusters.
At this stage, we can only speculate on engines, but be sure to see the current crop of BMW’s 2,0-litre and 3,0-litre turbocharged petrol engines.
Expect the 4 Series to make its debut at next month’s Detroit Motor Show or at the latest at Geneva come March 2013.
