The 5 Series is in its sixth generation, of which a million units have already been sold, making it the most successful 5 Series to date. BMW has now refined it in the middle of its life cycle. There are minor exterior tweaks such as revised lower air intakes, a reworked rear apron, redesigned taillamps and a new rear-end on the GT. Xenon adaptive headlamps and side indicator lights come as standard. Inside, you will find added chrome highlights and additional cup holders. The options list is lengthy, but all the ticking of boxes can be avoided by opting instead for one of the packages – Luxury Line, Modern Line and M Sport. The new BMW 5 Series saloon and GT will go on sale in South Africa from October 2013.
