Featuring a 12-cylinder petrol engine with maximum output of 327 kW from 6,0 litres engine displacement, the 760Li stands out from the 760i through its high-end rear compartment and wheelbase extended by 14 cm. This means the passengers at the rear have much more legroom.

It offers a wide range of features in drivetrain technology and equipment.

BMW’s new 12-cylinder features direct fuel injection, four-valve technology and VALVETRONIC fully-variable valve control. It is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Displacing 5 972 cc, the V12 power unit develops 327 kW at 6 000 r/min, with maximum torque of 600 Nm at 3 950 r/min. And 500 Nm is available throughout the broad speed range from 1 500–6 000 r/min. The claimed fuel consumption under the EU standard is 13,4 litres/100 km.

BMW says the vehicle accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 5,5 seconds, speeding up to 200 km/h in 17 seconds, while top speed is limited to 250 km/h.

The 760Li is equipped with the following: electrically operated rear side roller blinds, automatically dipping door mirrors, electrical adjustment with memory for rear comfort seats and second cordless phone handset in rear console.

It also has: tyre pressure control (TPC), comfort access (keyless entry & exit, SOP 01/2003), SA357 protective glass all-round (anti-smash and grab and high insulation), front seat ventilation (only with U6 Nasca leather), Rear seat ventilation (only with U6 Nasca leather), active front seats, seat heating for front & rear seats, rear air-conditioning with cooler box, communication/entertainment TV function (picture remains on at rear even when moving), rear monitor, DVD 6-Disc changer.

Safety features include: two front airbags, four side airbags, two knee airbags and two head airbags. It also has a safety battery terminal (SBT). After an accident with activation of the airbags, SBT disconnects the battery ground cable from the battery and therefore effectively prevents any risk of the vehicle catching fire due to a short circuit. The emergency telephone function, illumination of the passenger compartment and the hazard warning flashers naturally remain fully operative with all the power required.
