BMW has released more official images of its X4 Concept that will make its official public debut at the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show.
BMW confirmed a while back that this X4 Crossover will be built at the company’s Spartanburg, South Carolina plant in the US and that it will take on the likes of the Porsche Macan and Range Rover Evoque.
Sharing the same platform as its X3 sibling, the X4 is coupe-like in its styling and looks like a micronized version of the X6. It features a large front bumper with prominent air intakes, LED elements in the headlamps, a sculpted bonnet and large exhaust outlets at the rear. The X4 Concept is 4 648 mm long, 1 915 mm wide and 1 622 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2 810 mm.
Engines are expected to be the same as those in the X3 range, so choices could include a 2,0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder unit with 179 kW and 352 N.m, along with a turbocharged 3,0-litre inline-six unit developing 224 kW and 406 N.m.
