Earlier this year BMW and Zagato joined forced to create the dramatic BMW Zagato Coupe. The two companies (BMW and Zagato) claim that this one-off vehicle was so well received that it was almost immediately decided that a roadster version would follow. And this is the result.
Taking just six weeks to build, the Zagato Roadster turned heads at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance with its striking design. At the front is a low-set kidney grille that features “Z” mesh detailing. In profile, a long, sweeping bonnet, long wheelbase, short overhangs and a low rear end define the BMW Zagato Roadster’s shape. At the back you will find blacked-out taillamps and dual tail pipes that remind strongly of the McLaren MP4-12C look.
“This car is not designed only as an elegant convertible, but also as a masculine and extremely dynamic sports car which evokes a powerful driving experience” says Zagato chief designer Norihiko Harada.
