Just six months after the introduction of Honda’s wallet-friendly Brio hatchback, the company has now added more space and practicality to the equation with the introduction of a stretched-wheelbase sedan model.
Despite the additional metal, the Honda Brio sedan weighs only 30 kg more than the hatchback, while its 55 mm extended wheelbase frees up more rear passenger legroom and a good deal more bootspace (405 dm3).
Like the hatchback, The Brio sedan is powered by a four-cylinder 1,2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine developing 65 kW at 6 000 r/min and 109 N.m of torque at 4 500 r/min. Mated with a five-speed manual gearbox, this powerplant is capable of propelling the Brio sedan from 0-100 km/h in around 12,5 seconds and returns an average fuel consumption of 6,1 litres/100 km. Comfort-spec models see the powerplant coupled with a five-speed automatic transmission.
The Brio sedan is well equipped with such features as an MP3-compatible audio system with USB and AUX inputs and steering wheel-mounted audio controls, air conditioning and electric windows among the standard fitment items. When it comes to standard safety features, the Brio comes equipped with dual front airbags and ABS with EBD.
