The Goodwood festival of Speed has to be one of the most essential events for any motoring enthusiasts. Founded back 1993 by Lord March, it was grown to one of the motoring highlights on the UK calendar and also an event that attract more people during the entire event than the British Formula One Grand Prix.
Not only will you witness current and ex-racing drivers, but several manufacturers will choose this event to show off some of their new cars or to celebrate an anniversary.
A prime example is Jaguar, which will help to open the event by showing some of its older and newer cars. The highlight, without a doubt, will be the Jaguar XKR-S that was only unveiled a couple of weeks ago at the Geneva motor show in Switzerland. Jaguar is also celebrating the iconic E-Type’s 50th anniversary by exhibiting one of the two original E-Types that was driven from Coventry in the UK to the show in Switzerland back in 1961.
Chevrolet is also returning to the festival this year to celebrate its centenary by showing off a mixture of its cars through the ages.
The festival will open on 30 June and end on 3 July.
