Toyota South Africa is on a quest to take its products and technology closer to the public with mobile display units called Roving Zones.
Two Roving Zones are currently doing the rounds of major shopping centres around the country. The current feature is Toyota’s latest model addition, the Yaris, which will be on display until the end of March 2006. Display models will be changed on an ongoing basis.
The display units allow potential customers to enquire about Toyota’s latest products, schedule test drives, receive dealer information, and provide their contact details should they need a dealer to contact them.
“What differentiates the Roving Zones from traditional dealership showrooms is the fact that potential customers can enjoy a different motoring experience, all in their own time and without the pressure of a salesman,” says Brian Eades, general manager of marketing communications and public relations at Toyota SA.
“The Roving Zones are not sales outlets, but experiential areas that operate as a support service to the dealer network. The strategy is to introduce our products to a wider potential customer base, especially the younger market who do not necessarily visit shopping malls to make purchases, but rather enjoy the ‘shoppertainment’ concept,” says Eades.
The Roving Zones can be found at the following centres:
