The mother of all SUVs, the Porsche Cayenne, has received a bunch of extra bits to add more appeal to the fired-up range, including a massive panoramic roof and increased power for the Cayenne Turbo.

By expanding its customisation programme for all its SUVs, Porsche will now offer a 1,4 m2 panorama roof system and an automatically extending reversing camera for all three models.

The best news, though, is that power of the Cayenne Turbo has been uprated from 331 kW to 368 kW, while the brake system has been reinforced and the suspension adapted.

The maximum torque has increased from 620 N.m to a mighty 700 N.m, available between 2 250 and 4 750 r/min. It is able to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 5,3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 270 km/h. Previously, the zero to 100 km/h sprint was covered in 5,5 seconds and top speed was 266 km/h.

Front and rear brake discs sizes have been increased and brake ventilation has also been improved.

The range of Cayenne, Cayenne Turbo and Cayenne S can be customised with an electrically operated panoramic roof system constructed from laminated glass. With its extensive surface area, it is almost four times larger than the sunroof already available.

The roof system is operated by a rotary switch and comes with an electric roller blind to provide shade in the cabin. Comprised of three movable and one fixed segment, the roof system can be configured in 15 different ways.

Also from the end of the year, all models can be fitted with a reversing camera, fitted with a wide-angle lens to provide the driver with a clear picture of what is happening behind the car.

The camera automatically opens beneath the rear window when reverse gear is selected and the visuals are transmitted to the driver via the display unit on the central console.

Only a few centimetres long, it automatically retracts when forward gear is selected. At speeds above 15 km/h, the camera disappears under a colour-coded cover, protecting it from dirt and damage.
