General Motors South Africa has announced changes to its Corsa Hatch and Classic models for 2004. Model pricing will remain unchanged, while a new 1,4-litre version will be available for under R90 000.
The changes will be minor and include revised badging with the Opel Corsa branding being replaced with Corsa which will now appear on the boot only and no longer on the front door.
The Hatch line-up remains virtually unchanged with a choice of five models and three petrol engines – the 1,4-litre, 1,6-litre and 1,8-litre fuel injected petrol engines.
The Corsa 1,4 Club has been introduced as the base model (R 86 995) and along with the 1,4 Comfort and 1,6 Elegance will have body-coloured bumpers with black highlights. The identical approach to the Corsa 1,6 Sport and 1,8 GSi will be continued.
Formerly body coloured wheel arch mouldings on the 1,4-litre and the 1,6-litre Elegance are now black. The hatchback and saloon versions of the 1,4 and 1,6-litre have side mouldings with a grained black finish now featured across both ranges.
The matte chrome finish on the centre console, interior door handles, gear knob and handbrake lever previously reserved for the GSi model has been included on the other models in the hatch and saloon range.
Interior trim on the two 1,4-litre and the 1,6-litre Elegance variants have been revised along with interior trim across the Classic range.
The remote boot release previously fitted only to the top of the range 1,8 Executive is now standard across the Corsa Classic range.
