Available in both four and five door derivatives, the Aveo range comprises base, LS and LT models. The entry-level model comes standard with features such as power steering, driver’s airbag, tailgate wiper and washer and remote rear view mirrors. Safety features like the a collapsible steering column, child seat anchorage, side impact beams and a centrally high mounted brake light are also standard.
The power-assisted steering system is speed-dependent, offering the driver maximum steering accuracy while the suspension is beefed up with the McPherson struts in the front end and the torsion beam axle in the rear. The LT model features a four-channel ABS system with electronic brake power distribution is a standard feature.
A 62 kW 1,5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine mated with a five-speed manual gearbox produces 128 N.m of torque at 3 000 r/min and is claimed to propel the front-wheel drive Aveo to a top speed of 170 km/h.
Some may consider this car to be quite attractive with its streamlined front end featuring a clear headlamp cluster and flared wheel arches while its rear end displays a cleverly moulded rear light cluster.
