[Chevrolet News] The Chevrolet Captiva has received a host of styling and specification upgrades, as well as an extended list of optional extras, for its 2013 model year.
Among the 2013 Captiva’s exterior updates are revisions to the front bumper, grille and foglamp surrounds. The brakelamps are now LED items and the rear bumper and exhaust ports also receive updates.
The Captiva is offered with either a 2,4-litre Ecotec petrol engine (123 kW/230 N.m), or a common-rail direct-injection 2,2 litre turbodiesel engine that produces 135 kW with 400 N.m of torque. The 2,4 LT with front wheel drive is available with a choice of six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmissions. The 2,2 LTZ features a six-speed automatic transmission with on-demand four wheel drive.
Chevrolet’s “Touch-Pad” gate lift mechanism and passenger seatbelt warning are now standard items across the Captiva range, while the 2,2 LTZ AWD recieves dual-zone climate control (an optional extra on the 2,4 LT auto and manual models).
Other standard features available on the LTZ include branded, illuminated doorsills, a tyre-pressure monitor and keyless entry/start. The final drive ratio on this model’s automatic transmission has also been revised to improve off-the-line performance.
Among the additional options now offered on the Captiva are redesigned 18-inch alloy wheels, an electronic sun-roof and leather seats. A“Luxury Package’ is also available and adds dual-zone climate control air-conditioning and an on-board computer to the specification.
