As the new Chevrolet Spark gets set to launch in South Africa within the next few weeks, the current model rebadges as the Chevrolet Spark Lite.
According th Chevrolet brand manager Tim Hendon, “the Chevrolet Spark Lite which offers an excellent value proposition will serve the market with two models priced under R100 000”.
The base model is the Chevrolet Spark Lite L that is powered by a 38 kW 796 cm3, while the Spak Lite LS has a 995 cm3 engine that has a peak power output of about 49 kW. Chevrolet claims that the fuel consumption for the Spark Lite L and LS are 5,1 and 5,8 litres/100 km respecvtvely.
In terms of specification, both vehicles come with power steering, a new grille, front fog lamps, a two tone bumper, rocker sill mouldings and satin silver roof rails. The higher-specced LS model features chrome door handles, a driver side airbag, electrically operated side mirrors, air-conditioning and electric windows for front passengers.
Prices for this vehicle stand at R82 300 for the Spark Lite L and from R98 700 for the LS. This includes a 5 years or 120 000 km warranty and roadside assistance for the full warranty period, as well as a 5 years/unlimited km anti-corrosion warranty.
