Citroën’s Colin McRae has scored just six points in the past four rallies, but thinks he will be a strong contender for victory in the upcoming Rally of Germany.
McRae got his season off to a flying start when he finished second on the season-opening round in Monte Carlo. However, he has scored just six points since the Monaco event and is hoping to turn around his season in Germany – and that his championship rivals hit problems.
“The next rally in Germany should suit the Citroën Xsara and we are expecting great things that weekend,” he said. “Obviously, Citroën won last year and I really enjoyed the event. It is not your typical asphalt rally – the stages are quite different in character from anything else we do.
“As far is the championship is concerned, not a lot has changed… A couple of wins for us and a couple of bad results for Richard Burns and my team-mate Carlos Sainz and I’ll be right back in there,” he said.
