Citroën recently named its South African distributor the French manufacturer’s Importer of the Year.
PSA Peugeot Citroën president and chief executive Jean-Martin Folz presented the award, named after famous explorer Ferdinand Magellan, to Citroën SA chief executive Derek Bromfield in Paris.
Every year, Citroën scrutinises its associates’ efficiency, customer support, service delivery, sales performance and relationship with the mother company. In 2003, Citroën SA was adjudged to have outperformed 100 other affiliates in the global network of manufacturers, importers and distributors.
Percentage increase in new vehicle deliveries, the increase in market share, and the percentage improvement in parts turnover were the criteria for the Trophee Magellan.
Folz singled out Citroën SA’s exceptional performance in all these fields and lauded Bromfield and his team’s efforts to increase the company’s number of dealerships to 20 in two years.
