Automotive retailing group Combined Motor Holdings (CMH) has launched a website, carshop.co.za, which lists about 2 500 vehicles stocked by its 35 dealers countrywide.

The site is managed by automotive e-business company motorONLINE and in addition to listing vehicles it also offers customers a number of other services, which include the booking of services for vehicles, access to vehicle financing and car rentals.

CMH's Group IT Manager Roelof Minnaar said: "Prospective customers who visit the carshop website indicate what type and make of vehicle (in a specific price category) they are interested in and the selections are displayed almost instantly. On finding a specific vehicle of his or her choice they are then put in touch with a call centre managed by motorONLINE, which asks the dealer who has the specific vehicle to get in touch with the prospective customer. The call centre also follows-up with the customer to ensure fast and efficient service from the dealer.

All the vehicles stocked by CMH Dealerships, which includes Volvos, Jaguars, Landrovers, Fords, Mazdas, Nissans, Alfa Romeos, Fiats, Peugeots, Toyotas, Lexuses, BMWs, Minis, Isuzus, Opels, Suzukis and Hondas, are listed on Carshop and the database is updated in real time, ensuring that customers do not waste time enquiring about vehicles that are not available any more.
