The range now consists of two models, the RVi and RVSi, which are both available with either manual or automatic transmissions. All models are powered by Honda’s 2,0-litre i-VTEC engine, currently used in the CR-V range, which continues to produce peak power of 110 kW and 190 N.m of torque.
The RVSi becomes the flagship model with the addition of full leather upholstery and a leather covering for the automatic gearshift, a cooler and satellite controls on the steering wheel for the radio and CD player.
With its latest facelift in November 2004, the CR-V received side and curtain airbags, climate control and an anti-theft system, which will remain as standard equipment on the RVSi models.
Cruise control, a sunroof, front fog lamps and an outside temperature indicator are some of the luxury features not offered on the entry-level RVi. Mechanically identical to the top-of-the-range model, its black door handles, mirrors, bumpers and side protection strips distinguishes the SUV from the outside. It also receives a soft cover for the rear-door mounted spare-wheel.
For added space, the CR-Vs have 1 424 litres of total load volume and the rear seat is able to slide either forward or backwards by 170 mm.
All four derivatives come standard with a three-year/60 000 km maintenance plan, a three-year/100 000 km warranty and one year’s roadside assistance.
