DaimlerChrysler SA’s Chrysler & Jeep division has been named the US-German multinational overseas division’s (DCOS) Best Marketing Team for 2004.
The marketing and distribution of Jeep, Chrysler and Dodge products outside America, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, and France, falls under the auspices of DCOS division. The award ceremony, which took place in Frankfurt earlier this month, kicked-off a new award series aimed at increasing the standard of Chrysler and Jeep marketing activities worldwide.
The accolade, said to recognise excellence in various market disciplines such as advertising, public relations and events, as well as global competencies such as market share development, was jointly awarded to the local Chrysler and Jeep division and PentaMark Worldwide: South Africa. The division’s marketing manager, Guy Franken, and PentaMark SA’s managing director, Dalene van Ass, received the award.
DCOS marketing manager Frank Bernthaler, who was a member of the judging panel, said: “We awarded South Africa this coveted prize for the outstanding co-operation and relationship between DCSA and PentaMark South Africa, the success of events like the Jeep Experiences held in 2002, 2003 and 2004, as well as the South African Dealer Advertising Association development and execution and the web-based ad-planner implemented by the team. Aligned with excellent sales growth over the past three years, these achievements gave the South African team the edge.”
“For 2005, a panel of judges from Chrysler International, DCOS and PentaMark Worldwide will measure factors such as program rationale & strategy, creativity, business solutions, program mechanics, creative products, budget efficiency, measurement and actionable results to determine winners in the various categories on a yearly basis,” he concluded.
