Port Elizabeth-based manufacturer Delta has received an ISO 9001: 2000 certification from the SA Bureau of Standards.
Port Elizabeth-based manufacturer Delta has received an ISO 9001: 2000 certification from the SABS.
Delta successfully converted from the old 1994 standard to the latest ISO 9001: 2000, “after an extensive and comprehensive assessment by the SABS”, Denise van Huyssteen, Delta’s manager of corporate communications said.
“Delta’s standards in quality processes have received the thumbs up from the SABS.
“What was particularly significant was that the company had no outstanding findings on the last day of the assessment. Delta has joined a small percentage of companies that have made a successful transition to ISO 9001: 2000,” she added.
Delta’s Opel assembly plant was also awarded the National Occupational Safety Association’s top safety award in recognition of a million injury-free man-hours of production last year.
NOSA Business Development Manager Leanne Franks said the accolade was indicative of good safety systems at the plant, adherence to the systems, and commitment by management to enforce compliance of these systems.
