Ducati is preparing its fiercest Monster yet. The 84 kW-powered S4R will be the highest spec bike in the popular Monster range.

Ducati say it is the first true production “cafè racer”. With 84 kW, the Monster S4R is the most powerful Ducati ever made.

It is powered by the championship-winning, electronic injection, water-cooled Desmoquattro 996 engine. The S4R is being described as an “enormous step up” from the S4 version.

One of the most dramatic changes is a single-sided aluminium rear swing arm inspired by the Mike Hailwood replica introduced a couple of years ago in very limited numbers.

It has a traditional aluminium handlebars, new high “two in one in two” exhaust system and a newly designed multi-functional instrument panel. The electronic instruments have been given a racing design.

It also has a new aluminium stand, front mudguard, side panels and radiator cover.

It is expected to go on sale overseas next year.
