Audi’s next A4 is being rustled into shape to be launched about 12 months ahead of schedule. This decision was taken to give the classy saloon a better chance at taking on BMW’s 3 Series.
The new A4 will be revealed at the Paris Motor Show next month and should go on sale in Europe by December this year has reported.
Rather than a minor facelift, major surgery has been performed and the latest version will boast tweaked body panels all round.
Among the many cosmetic and functional adjustments, it will get the new face of Audi, as seen on the A6 and the A3.
Other improvements for the 2005 edition include improved weight distribution, aided by the engine being placed a few centimetres back, and a revised suspension layout.
“Beating BMW on volume, image and customer satisfaction are all part of our mission statement,” an Audi representative based in the UK has said.
