A cosmetically refreshed Ford Focus is set to emerge by early 2014
It’s fair to say that the styling of the latest Ford Focus has managed to divide opinion, so it comes as little surprise that the Blue Oval should choose to give its Golf-rivalling hatch a cosmetic lift to bring it into line with the strikingly styled facelifted Fiesta.
The folks at German motoring publication, Autobild, recently spotted the lightly camouflaged pre-production model undergoing testing. The new car’s face appears to have adopted the chrome-louvred, stepped trapezoidal grille.
According to Autobild, the facelifted Ford Focus will emerge in Europe early next year.
A spokesperson from Ford Motor Company of South Africa said that this model’s arrival on the local market has yet to be confirmed, but given Ford’s adoption of a global design language for the Focus, this update will probably apply to all markets.
Details regarding engines and trim are also a matter of speculation at present, but with the facelifted Fiesta’s ushering in of the award-winning 1,0-litre EcoBoost engine, there is the slim possibility of that engine eventually coming our way.
