Days after the sudden and tragic death of Fast and Furious star Paul Walker, it was still unclear how Universal Studios would handle this sad event regarding the latest installment of the very successful movie series.
With half of Walker’s scenes already shot, the cast and studio was left in a difficult position regarding the future of the film.
Options were to write a new script and start filming from scratch, or to leave the script as is and try and salvage a film that Universal has poured US$150 million into.
Reports have, however, emerged that Chris Morgan, the scriptwriter, is at work on rewrites for the seventh movie in the successful franchise.
With Morgan rewriting the script, the studio hopes to give Walker a proper send-off. Should the rewrites be signed off on, the cast and crew could be filming by January.
Walker’s scenes would still be used, although it is unclear how Morgan will write in the exit of Walker’s character, Brian O’Connor.
