Gone are the days of lavish launches in the middle of exotic locations… Ferrari has chosen to launch its latest F1 creation, the F150, on-line.
The Italian firm has created a special website (www.ferrarif150.com) with details and images of Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa’s new company cars.
The fifty-seventh Formula One machine created by the Scuderia is named after the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy and as such boasts an Italian flag motif on the outside of its rear wing. The rear wing is now a movable item, a rule change instituted for 2011 that is hoped will create more overtaking opportunities.
As stipulated by the rules the car uses a development of the 056 2,4-litre V8 engine that has been employed for the past few seasons. The 2011 regulations have placed a ban on the blown and double diffusers, as well as the F-duct that was pioneered by Ferrari’s arch-rivals McLaren.
