We have seen so many teaser images of both the Toyota FT-86 and the Subaru BRZ, but now Subaru has been the first to finally release an official picture of its upcoming BRZ, in Concept STI guise.
To start off with, it doesn’t look like a regular Subaru at all, which could be a good thing. It certainly looks the part with proper sportscar characteristics such as the sills running between the front and rear wheelarches, the diffuser (hopefully a real one) around the exhaust system and a very prominent rear wing.
The standard versions of both the BRZ and FT-86 are likely to develop around 150 kW from a 2,0-litre four-cylinder boxer-engine. From this picture it is clear that more powerful derivatives, at least from Subaru, are definitely being planned. Expect power outputs of closer to 180 kW are speculated for the STI version.
No other official information has been made public, which is understandable at this stage since this car will only be shown at the Los Angeles auto show on 16 November.
