This coming weekend (26-27 May) marks the 83rd birthday of the famous Circuit de Monaco. Regarded as one of the most glamorous and prestigious motor-racing events on the calendar, the first race took place here in 1929 and was won by William Grover-Williams in a Bugatti Type 35B. This first race weekend was organised under the auspices of the “Automobile Club de Monaco” by Anthony Noghès and has since become synonymous with fast cars, beautiful women and high fashion.
While the women watching this years race will undoubtedly be wearing less than the ladies in this clip of the 1929 event, rumours that the cars featured in this video would still lap faster than Felipe Massa are grossly exaggerated.
