A few weeks ago Ford launched the all-new Fiesta ST, which you can read about here. Look out for the August issue of CAR for a comprehensive road test on the newcomer. But before this latest generation car arrived there was another little Ford that boasted those same illustrious letters.
The first-generation Fiesta ST sported a 2,0-litre naturally aspirated, inline four with a propensity for revs. Mated with a slick-shifting manual ‘box it was a real hoot to drive. Judging by the number of original Fiesta STs on the road (usually in some modified form) it seems that the pocket rocket was as well received by the public as it was by CAR’s test panel.
