The launch of the all-new Mercedes-Benz SL range is imminent. We cast our minds back to the start of the 1990s and the launch of the then new 500 SL. The R129 series, which replaced the R107, was the first step away from the effeminate looking cars of the late 1970s. The fourth generation of Mercedes Sport Light range boasted a V8 engine and folding roof and it was the last of the SLs to feature rear seats.
