reports that motorists will pay 19c a litre more for 93 octane leaded and unleaded petrol and 20c more a litre for 95 octane and 97 octane unleaded petrol. The steepest increase will be for 97 octane leaded petrol at 21c a litre.
Diesel with 0,05 per cent sulphur content will increase by 14c a litre, while that of 0,04 per cent sulphur content will rise by 20 cents.
The retail price of illuminating paraffin increases by 22c a litre, while the wholesale price of paraffin will rise by 17c a litre.
The Minerals and Energy ministry attributes the rise to the weak dollar/rand exchange rate during the May 26 to June 25 period. Last month, the price of petrol dropped by 27 cents, while that of diesel went down by 40 cents.
