Amazingly popular, the Hyundai Getz just got better with the introduction of a 1,5 CRDi diesel version in the local market.
At last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, Hyundai Motor Company unveiled the new diesel engine for the Getz super-mini. This is now available in South Africa to add fuel to the Getz’s runaway sales.
The new 1,5 CRDi offers 191 N.m of torque, peaking at 2 000 r/min, while the maximum 60 kW is developed at 4 000 r/min.
With fuel consumption at a meagre 5 litres per 100km the CRDi offers greater value and performance with a significant increase in horsepower.
The common rail engine delivers vaporised fuel, attained by applying high pressure directly to the cylinder and increasing fuel efficiency.
The Bosch common rail system in the Getz adopts a glow plug system for cold starts as well as a pilot injection system which improves combustion efficiency. This reduces combustion noise and improves fuel consumption.
It has power steering, two airbags, air conditioning, a front-loading CD player, height-adjustable driver’s seat, adjustable steering wheel and side impact protection and pre-tensioners for the safety belts.
Standard features also include a boot spoiler, alloy wheels, central locking and immobiliser with key transponder, and electric windows and mirrors.
For R129 995, it comes standard with a two-year/40 000km service plan as well as a five-year anti-perforation warranty on the paint. All new Hyundais are covered by a three-year/100 000 km factory warranty.
