Current FMCSA president and chief executive Robert Graziano has been appointed as executive vice president of Mazda with effect from September 1.
“Bob Graziano brings to Mazda his experience in a wide range of areas, including that of developing markets,” Hisakazu Imaki, chairman of the board, president and chief executive of Mazda, said. “This is pertinent as we seek to grow our business in Asia and beyond. Graziano-san will play a key role in driving Mazda towards a solid and sustainable future.”
Robert Graziano joined Ford in 1982 and was appointed general marketing manager of Ford Brazil in 1998, after having working in various positions. Seven months later, he was elected strategic marketing director of Ford South America, before returning to the United States in 2000 as a brand manager for Ford passenger cars.
Graziano was named director of product marketing for Ford North America in 2002 – a position he held until being named director of product strategy and planning in May 2003.
He was appointed president and chief executive officer of Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa on December 1, 2004.
Graziano’s latest appointment will also see him join the Ford Motor Company as a vice president. His replacement at FMCSA will be announced at a later date.
Furthermore, John Parker, has been appointed group vice president for the Asia Pacific and Africa regions for Ford Motor Company, also effective from September 1, 2006.
Mark Schulz, executive vice president for Ford Motor Company, said, “John has a vast international automotive background and is one of our most experienced leaders. Since he began his career with Ford he has served in a number of roles throughout Asia Pacific. He has the leadership skills to drive implementation of our growth plans.
