The Beijing Auto Show will clearly be remembered for its SUV-based concept coupes. Not only did Mercedes-Benz unveiled its Concept Coupe SUV, but GWM used its local auto show to unveil its Haval Concept Coupe.
As is the case with concept cars, this Haval is equipped with massive 22-inch alloy wheels which have been pushed out to the corners of the car.
Details are currently sketchy, but a spokesperson for GWM confirmed that this concept uses a plug-in hybrid drivetrain that sends torque to all four wheels. Apparently the claimed fuel consumption is 2,2 litres per 100 km.
As has become the trend these days, the Haval features LED lights at the front as well as the rear.
There has at least been confirmation from GWM’s side that the production version of this concept will be revealed in 2016.
GWM’s head of design, Pierre Leclercq (formerly at BMW’s M division), referred to the Haval Coupe Concept as a “concept-to-be model”.
