Fans of double cabs are now presented with even more choice as GWM launchedes 4×2 and 4×4 versions of its Steed 5 Double Cab pick-up with a new diesel engine.
More gallop from 2,0 VGT engine
The Steed 5 2,0 VGT Double Cab shares its four-cylinder 4D20 diesel engine with GWM’s H5 SUV. In addition to meeting EURO 4 emission standards, the 2,0 VGT engine develops 110 kW at 4 000 r/min and 310 N.m of torque between 1 800 and 2 800 r/min. It features high-pressure common rail injection, a variable-geometry turbocharger (VGT), exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and an automatic valve clearance compensator. In both 4×2 and 4×4 guises, power is fed to the drive wheels via a six-gear manual gearbox.

Owners will not have to fork out extra cash for dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, front fog lights and remote central locking, leather seats, power steering, electric windows and side mirrors, a CD/MP3 player, steering wheel-mounted audio controls and 16-inch alloy wheels as these are all standard items on these models.
Front and rear mud flaps will keep the body clean when venturing off-road and a double insulated load bin protects the bin from unwanted scratches and scuffs..

Prices start at R224 990 for the 4×2 with the 4×4 retailing at R242 990. These prices include a three-year/100 000 km warranty and two-year 24-hour roadside assistance service.
