Let’s be honest – getting onto a 300 kg Harley-Davidson touring motorcycle for the first time is a bit intimidating and may even prevent you from ever experiencing that famous potato-potato soundtrack. Harley has realised this and opened its first riding academy in Hartebeespoort, about an hour outside Johannesburg.
The invitation to learn how to ride a motorcycle is not only restricted to aspiring Harley riders but to the broad spectrum of motorcyclists as the two-day course covers all the basics of motorcycling.
“We are extremely excited about having our own professional riding school in South Africa,” says Celine Gruizinga, Country Manager for Harley-Davidson Africa. “The new rider course is designed to give expert guidance and training, especially to those who have never been on a bike before.”
The course, priced at R3 850, includes two full days of training including riding a Harley-Davidson Sportster- the perfect entry level Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
