We drove the prototype last year and we have reported on the concept car. Finally Honda will reveal the full production version of the new Civic Type-R hot hatch at the Geneva Motor Show.
Instead of a teaser, Honda has fortunately revealed these three pictures and some important specification.
In its press release, Honda put a lot of focus on the “superior aerodynamic” characteristics of the car. Unfortunately no official figures in terms of downforce were quoted. Looking at the two pictures of the front of the car, it is clear that small dive planes and a short splitter are built into the bumper. Honda quotes a top speed of 270 km/h, while the Brembo braking system (four-piston callipers with 350 mm drilled discs up front) will supply the necessary braking force.
The picture of the interior dials illustrates the 7 000 r/min redline, as well as the red colour theme evident on the dials and the steering wheel.
Also note the +R button on the left, allowing the driver to select sportier settings for the car.
