After initial spy photographs late in 2011, Volkswagen’s upcoming Polo R model went under the radar. However, we now have confirmation from none other than Volkswagen’s head of research and development, Ulrich Hackenberg, that this model will be unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. It will apparently be heavily influenced by the recent WRC Street Concept and could feature a 2,0-litre turbocharged, direct-injection engine that delivers 168 kW, enough to propel it to 100 km/h in 6,0 seconds and on to a top speed of over 240 km/h.
Hackenberg also confirmed that the Golf R is under development and due in 2013/14.
