Drivers of SA Police bakkies will be weeping into their four-sugars Wimpy coffee when they hear that their Italian counterparts are driving something slightly nippier…. a Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4.
At a doughnut-free ceremony the Museo dell Auto Storiche della Polizia di Stato in Rome, Lamborghini’s president and CEO Stephan Winkelman handed over the car to head of the Italian State Police, Alessandro Pansa. Signor Pansa confirmed that the police version of the Huracán will see actual service on Italian roads by the end of the year “in order to sustain security … by continuing accident and crime prevention.”
Such exotica is, of course, nothing new to Signor Pansa’s men having taking delivery of a Gallardo in 2014, which naturally proved a popular vehicle in the car pool. The team put 140 000 km on their Lambo before virtually totaling it by hitting a row of parked cars in Cremona. The official explanation was that they had to swerve to avoid another car…
