The Jaguar C-X17 Concept is in South Africa as part of the vehicle’s world tour. This sports crossover concept gives us a look at what to expect from Jaguar in the coming years. Here are some of the highlights:
– This vehicle is a design study that introduces the company’s all-new aluminium monocoque architecture.
– According to Jaguar, the C-X17 will offer refined on-road dynamics and sedan-like handling, thanks to its low height, optimised centre of gravity and use of cutting-edge dynamic technologies such as torque vectoring by braking, in which the car intelligently uses its brake system to balance the distribution of engine torque to the wheels during cornering, reducing understeer and maximising grip.
– It’s a showcase of Jaguar interior technology such as the interactive surface control, which is a multiscreen infotainment network that links passengers with each other and the outside world through social media channels.
– The sports crossover shows that Jaguar is thinking of expanding its portfolio to include other bodystyles.
– The C-X17 makes use of light-weight technologies and architecture that will be utilises in future Jaguar models. The first of which will be a mid-size premium C/D-segment sedan that will go on sale in 2015.
– This sedan will make use of new Jaguar Land Rover engines that the company claims will offer performance and efficiency. It will also make use of the V6 that currently does duty in the F-Type.
