After the recent Paris Motor show you would think that there wasn’t a single new model left for any car manufacturer to unveil. Well, it seems as though Jaguar has kept one card up its sleeve, in what could be a marketing masterstroke.
The Jaguar F-Type Coupe is a Porsche 911 competitor, representatives of the English firm will tell you that openly. While the Germans offer several different powertain options, as well as two- and all-wheel drive variants the Big Cats are only rear-wheel drive… but all that will soon change.
Jaguar is set to unveil all-wheel drive (AWD) derivatives of the supercharged V8, F-Type Coupe R as well as the V6S models in a few weeks time in the US. This move will open F-Type Coupe ownership to those who aren’t necessarily keen on the tail-happy nature of the RWD versions.
As you can just tell from the bulging bonnet on the test mules, it seems as though the engine had to be slightly re-positioned to accommodate the front drive shafts.
