Jaguar plans to launch a more powerful XKR at the Geneva motor show – dubbed the XKR-S. The company explains that this new model expresses “its long held duality of purpose: GT luxury with incredible performance”.
Currently there isn’t much detail available until the XKR-S debuts at the Geneva motor Show next week, but we suspect is that it will use a tweaked version of the supercharged 5,0-litre V8 engine that currently does duty in the “lesser” XKR and XFR models.
The company has, however, released the numbers that count. The engine that powers the XKR-S delivers 410 kW and 680 N.m of torque. It clocks a claimed zero to 100 km/h time of 4,2 seconds before it goes on to reach a top speed of 300 km/h.
“The XKR-S is a bold and exciting new model for Jaguar,” said Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar’s new Global Brand Director. “We expect to attract both loyal and new Jaguar driving enthusiasts who still want the comfort, opulence and class only a Jaguar can offer, combined with inspirational performance.”
More images and some video footage will be made available once the vehicle is officially unveiled, so stay tuned!
