BBC Top Gear host and personality Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended. This followed after a “fracas” with a colleague. It seems the presenter tried to punch a male producer, and was suspended the next day.
The bad news for viewers is that the programme, and the rest of the series, could be suspended, as the BBC is not commenting on future plans. The filming for Sunday’s episode should have taken place today, but following the investigation it has been cancelled.
Clarkson is well-known for his outbursts, several of which have unfortunately landed him and the programme in hot water.
However, it will be sad to see the programme and the series come to an abrupt end.
James May, known on the programme as Captain Slow tweeted yesterday: “No Top Gear this weekend, apparently. How about 633 Squadron instead? @JeremyClarkson @RichardHammond”. To this Clarkson replied: “@MrJamesMay No no no. Where Eagles Dare. Much better”, and Richard Hammond replied: “No, surely, Last of the Summer Wine; no one will notice the difference. Job done. @MrJamesMay @JeremyClarkson”.
BBC Top Gear is the most popular factual programme in the world, also making it one of the company’s most profitable programmes.
