Following the recent operational changes at the Fiat Group, the latest development is that the chief operating office for Alfa Romeo, Karl Heinz Kalbfell, has been appointed Maserati’s chief executive.
The former head of BMW-owned Rolls-Royce will now also be responsible for the Alfa Romeo-Maserati brand announced last week.
This will allow the two marques to co-operate on both industrial and commercial levels.
The appointment is Kalbfell’s third job in less than a year. In May 2004, he was made chief executive of Rolls-Royce, before resigning five months later. Former BMW SA boss Ian Robertson now heads Rolls Royce.
