A couple of weeks ago, Kia released a clutch of images showing what the firm described as a “racy new urban concept.” Now the Korean carmaker has lifted the lid on its Provo concept – a sporty crossover that potentially previews its designs on the popular Nissan Juke.
The Kia Provo features a sports coupé/crossover body style with the lower sections finished in a light grey metallic paint job. The roof, brake callipers and elements of the front apron are finished in contrasting orange.
The nose, which Kia initially described as featuring a “mischievous yet friendly grille and headlight arrangement”, also sports a deep, aggressive front bumper and wide wheel arches. The now-signature “Tiger Nose” grille treatment is still evident in this concept and the rear features a brakelamp strip sitting on a kicked-up tail and a blacked-out rear diffuser with dual exhaust tips.
The interior is typically flight of fancy concept stuff, but is very tastefully executed. The facia is clean and buttons are minimal while the chromed dials and heavily quilted leather pews give the cabin a slightly retro air.
There is a strong possibility that the Provo could preview a rival to the popular Nissan Juke crossover or, at the very least, hint at the aesthetic direction in which future Kia models are headed.
