Within days of its debut, more than 1 000 people have expressed interest in buying a Ferrari LaFerrari. Although no official announcement has been made yet, it would seem that all 499 units of Ferrari’s first ever hybrid hypercar have been sold.
The McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder rival is powered by a 6,3-litre V12 engine developing 588 kW and 700 N.m of torque, backed up by a 120 kW and 270 N.m electric motor and good for a claimed 0–100 km/h sprint of less than 3,0 seconds. Top speed is limited to 350 km/h.
It is yet uncertain whether any one of the 499 LaFerraris will find their way to South Africa, but as the limited-edition model is a left-hand-drive only model, any cars that land here are unlikely to be seen on local roads.
